The Wales Co-operative Centre has announced the names of this year’s winners for the Social Enterprise Awards Wales. The winners were revealed at a ceremony held at the Wales Millennium Centre on 29 September 2015 in front of an invited audience of VIP guests from the social business sector.
The Centre has named Vi-Ability as Social Enterprise of the Year 2015!
Organised by the Wales Co-operative Centre, the Awards are mainly funded by the European Regional Development Fund and Welsh Government. This year, the Award categories have been sponsored by BIC Innovation, Landsker Business Solutions, Legal & General and NatWest, with additional support from Charity Bank and Big Ideas Wales.
Thirteen organisations across four categories were shortlisted for the awards which drew entries from all across Wales.
Glenn Bowen, Director of Enterprise at the Wales Co-operative Centre, congratulated each of the winners and said: “The quality of this year’s Social Enterprise Awards Wales winners is once again extremely high. There can be no doubt that these organisations are making a fantastic contribution to Wales – not just economically but in terms of their impact on social justice and community regeneration as well.”
Vi-Ability will now go forward to compete with counterparts from Scotland, England and Northern Ireland at a UK Awards ceremony being held in central London in November.
