Run The Club
The ‘Run the Club’ Programme teaches key commercial skills to young people, so they can help turn struggling local sports clubs into thriving financially stable businesses; which ultimately have a positive benefit for the whole community. This programme introduces young people to the commercial management of sports clubs while supporting them to make a positive difference to their local community through social action. The eight-week Vi-Ability programme has a range of awards and qualifications embedded within including a Level 2 BTEC Award in the commercialisation of Football.
It has run successfully at clubs in Wales & England including English Premier League clubs such as Swansea City and West Ham.
It's an opportunity to develop a broad range of skills from Community engagement to enterprise and Marketing. There is a mixture of group activities and a 1-1 support environment, where pathways are put in place to help individuals achieve their aspirations, to which 75% of these individuals have gone on to secure positive outcomes.
Vi-Ability created and is an approved supplier for the BTEC in the commercialisation of Football, as well as offering management level qualifications through the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM).
Vi-Ability also deliver other training and qualifications, we are approved Sports Leaders UK delivery centre, as well as being a supplier of First Aid courses.
Corporate to Community: A Vi-Ability CSR experience
A Vi-Ability organised CSR day would allow skilled individuals within a corporate organisation to spend time working with a community sports club. Colleagues work in small teams and engage in real life issues, problem solving and coming up with workable solutions to tackle these.
