Vi-Ability MD Carries the Olympic Torch

FORMER professional footballer & Vi-Ability managing director, Kelly Davies recently had the honor of carrying the olympic torch into the Parc Eirias stadium in Colwyn Bay as part of the Olympic torch relay, amid cheers from thousands of schoolchildren.

Kelly, who was awarded the honor as an inspirational role model to young people, has been a leading footballer, captaining the Wales ladies’ team.

“I think I must have run two turns as it felt like I was running forever!” said Kelly after the event.

“I’ve not played professional football for two years, but running with the torch on the final hill up to Eirias Park was difficult.

“When I found out I’d been nominated it felt great, a real honour to be a torchbearer. It just blew me away, so many people had lined the streets to show their support and when I brought the torch into Eirias Park it just blew everything out of the water.

“It was great to see so many young children taking interest in the Olympics.”
